House on Land Consultation
A house does not sit on land as a separate object. Its placement, orientation, and relationship to the surrounding landscape shape how well the building can support the people who will live there. A well-designed home can still work against you when it is poorly placed on the land.
I study the site alongside the proposed house plans to identify the best placement and orientation for the house. The earlier we begin, the more options remain open. Once its placement and orientation are fixed, the most important decisions become difficult to change.

You receive a recording of the consultation to share with your architect or design team and return to as the project develops. If the house plans or site strategy change significantly, an additional review can be arranged separately.
After the consultation
The consultation takes place online and lasts 1.5 hours. By the time we meet, I have already studied the land, the proposed house, and their relationship to one another.
We review options for the placement and orientation of the house, considering access, topography, surrounding features, and how the building will relate to the site as a whole. I explain the strengths and limitations of each option, what should be protected or avoided, and where future problems may arise.
By the end of our consultation, you will have clear direction on where the house should sit, how it should be oriented, and which aspects of the plans may need reconsideration.

What i need from you
A current site plan or land survey is required. It needs to clearly show north, the property boundaries, access, topography, and relevant surrounding features.
