Using the Feng Shui Lucky Bamboo in Your Home or Office

Understand the meaning and the feng shui use of the lucky bamboo plant in home (or office) decorating

The lucky bamboo, along with fountains and wind chimes, is one of the most popular feng shui cures. If one knows even a little bit about feng shui, he or she must have heard about the lucky bamboo, for sure. What makes this plant lucky and how is it used in feng shui? How is it different from the other popular feng shui plant, the money plant? As both are used for luck and abundance, does it matter which one you choose?

Before revealing the feng shui language of the lucky bamboo, know that any healthy and vibrant plant will bring good feng shui energy into your space. At the same time, each plant brings a specific quality of energy, so here is the language of the lucky bamboo as a feng shui cure.

The bamboo is a teacher plant

Being flexible and hollow on the inside, it teaches us the value of surrender and flexibility in the face of any life storms. When you are open in your innermost being, the spirit can flow freely and bless you with wisdom.

Bamboo creates the most soothing, transcendental and healing sound when being caressed by the wind. This is also a plant that is very easy to care for, as it grows very fast and needs little specialized attention.

In feng shui, the lucky bamboo arrangements vary widely. I am sure you must have seen many feng shui bamboo arrangements with a different number of stalks, as well as containers and additional adornments such as Chinese coins, the Laughing Buddha, or other symbols.

For a lucky bamboo to be considered lucky and used as a feng shui cure, it has to meet the criteria of representing all five feng shui elements. How exactly are the feng shui elements represented in this cure?

Feng shui elements in the Lucky Bamboo

FIRE element is usually represented by the red color ribbon that often accompanies the lucky bamboo plant; color red being one of the expressions of the Fire feng shui element.

EARTH element is brought by the rocks that are usually present in the feng shui lucky bamboo arrangement; rocks and crystals being the perfect representation of the Earth feng shui element.

METAL element is depicted either in the glass container of the lucky bamboo arrangement, or in the additional details such as a small figurine of Laughing Buddha or Chinese coins.

WATER element is represented by the actual water.

WOOD element is the lucky bamboo plant itself, as all plants represent the Wood feng shui element.

Another important detail of this cure is its number of stalks. Of course, many lucky bamboo arrangements come with a big number of stalks, which are not counted, and considered to bring the energy of wealth & abundance. Still, the language of numbers is important in choosing the bamboo as a feng shui cure.

The meaning of stalk numbers

If choosing the lucky bamboo as a feng shui cure for love and marriage, go for 2 stalks, as this is the number that represents togetherness. Vibrant health and happiness are represented by number 3.

Number 5 is the symbolic number for family harmony. 8, being the number of infinity, is associated with abundance and wealth. And number 9, considered the highest number, is associated with endless good fortune.

The best feng shui placement of the Lucky Bamboo

As for the best feng shui placement, the Health & Family / East and the Wealth & Money / Southeast bagua areas are considered best areas to display the lucky bamboo in your home.

The main entrance and the living room are generally good areas to display your lucky feng shui bamboo, with the bedroom being the worst area, unless you have a really big bedroom and the bamboo is placed further from the bed.

If you follow the annual feng shui guidelines, there can be other specific areas that can benefit from this popular and very symbolic feng shui plant. No matter where you place your lucky bamboo, take good care of it, keep it fresh and vibrant. This makes it a really good feng shui plant for your home.

This one change immediately created a dramatic difference in many areas of my life. Although we worked remotely over zoom, the consultations were thorough, accessible, spot-on and chock full of spiritual wisdom.

Rodika was also very available after the consultations to help me implement the feng shui changes. Rodika's consultations are expensive but worth every penny. I would recommend her most highly to any friend or family member interested to rapidly upgrade their life through feng shui.
